*SECRETARY GENERAL OF CNDD-FDD PARTY MEETS WITH JOURNALISTS*

The CNDD-FDD party held a meeting with journalists at its headquarters in Ngagara. The meeting began with a prayer, as is customary in the party, putting God first in their activities.

The Secretary General presented the party's achievements, highlighting the 2025 elections, where the party won over 96% of the votes. He attributed this success to several factors:

1. *Elections*: The Burundian people have learned to value their votes, choosing democracy and development.
2. *FPR and CNDD-FDD relations*: The Secretary General was asked about relations with other parties, but avoided the question, asking if such discussions were necessary.
3. *UVIRA*: Regarding the UVIRA issue, he stated that the borders are closed, as they are with Rwanda, and that the problem is not M23 but Rwanda itself.
4. *IBISWI VY'INKONA (Party Youth Wing)*: He emphasized that this is not just a party youth wing, but a national initiative to educate and train young people to build the country.
5. *FOMI (Farm Input Subsidy Program)*: He explained that fertilizer distribution issues are not new and that the party is working to improve the system.
6. *HANDOVER OF POWER*: The party is committed to a peaceful transfer of power, with no intention of staying in power indefinitely.
7. *CIVIL SOCIETY*: He advised opposition voices to join the party's efforts to develop the country, rather than spreading false information.
8. *GOVERNANCE*: The party is committed to good governance, with ongoing reforms to fight corruption.
9. *DIASPORA*: He appealed to Burundians abroad to return home and contribute to the country's development, rather than being misled by false promises.
10. *CONCLUSION*: The Secretary General thanked the journalists and called for increased efforts in all sectors, declaring 2026 a year of action.

Best regards,
Médard Muhiza
